What to do when the black paint of the exhausts black models is gone?

The black paint is used on the pipe or in some models of black exhausts (Original, Aluminium, Aluminium RS, Coyote RS, Coyote Competition, Turbo and Roncar No_Way). It is a special type of paint, what means resistant to high temperature, humid environments. Also, as time goes by it does not peel, matter-of-fact its natural shine becomes opaque (graphite) and it only gets discolored or completely washed out when it comes in contact with chemical products, like solupan, activated ones, kerosene and etc, or even when rubbed with something rugged or anything that causes mechanical attrition to the paint, for example, nails, tools, sandpaper, or objects that hit it, etc.
Washing a motorcycle that contains this type of exhaust paint should only occur when it is completely cold (without working on that day), for the reason that special care is needed with the paint.
The warranty does not cover the events listed above due to time or use of the vehicle; we do check the cases when it breaks, oxidizes or problems related to function. Remember that you can correct the paint by using a black paint spray that is designed for high temperatures (600 degrees), this will leave your exhaust looking new for a long time.
Hints for washing: Use running water and neuter shampoo with a soft cloth. If the pipe is dirty with mud or grime, the brown color probably won’t come out, you might need to use the paint to get the black color again.

Why does the roar of the exhaust increases?

The life expectancy or only the baffle corrosion of an exhaust changes according to the way and the time of the exhaust use, the type of fuel, etc. Usually, this life time lasts around two years, but for reasons of low quality fuel, this time can be reduced in half. When the roar increases it means that the baffle corrosion is increasing until the moment that the baffle becomes hollow, which means, the steel wool has been exhausted and the only remaining part is the drilled pipe. Remember that there is no way for repair this with exhaust maintenance or any kind of refill insert. When the roar becomes extremely metallic you must change the exhaust even if the exterior looks perfect.

PS.: Never opens the exhaust to remove glass wool (in order to increase the roaring) or insert white glass wool, used in refrigerator (in order to smother the roaring), because besides of damaging the exhaust and loosing the warranty of the product, you will waste time because the glass wool of refrigerator can’t handle heat and will burn in few days, different from the specific wood used on exhaust, which are proper and resistant to high temperature.

What to do when the conventional luggage compartment breaks?

The conventional luggage compartments produced by Roncar are made of carbon steel which are very efficient on the transportation of light things, maximum load of 3 (three) kilograms. When you exceed this limit, the product can burst for reasons of too much weigh and vibration. Many people don’t know the characteristics of the product or for financial reason they choose the conventional model, thinking it will support a traveling box. A traveling box weights around 1,8 to 2 kg and when the load is added and the motorcycle vibrates, the luggage compartment does not hold it. For this reason, there is no warranty that covers the broken luggage compartment because the product has been improperly used.
For transportation of 27 to 35 liters traveling box, we recommend the Hercules luggage compartment, which is composed of a massive iron plate, holding the largest load of 6 (six) kilograms.

Why does the pipe of the chrome-plated exhaust become bluish?

One of the main reasons for the bluish color on the pipe of the chrome-plated exhaust is the absence of equalization at the moment next to the installation. The lack or a wrong arrangement on the carburetion, mainly with sporting exhausts, may decrease the motorcycle efficiency, thereby increasing the fuel waste and changing of the color of the exhaust to a bluishness color, mainly in the area of the exhaust pipe. This denotes lack or insufficiency on the mix of the motorcycle carburetion and over-heating of the local, failure on the acceleration and bursting (sound) because of the disarrangement. Another thing that may cause the bluishness color of the pipe is the motor valves that might be stuck. As time goes by, the valves should be arranged for the motor to keep burning the gases and having a good function.

Then, remember that ALWAYS that you change the exhaust of your motorcycle for an original or sporting exhaust, equalize the mixing of carburetors aiming at optimizing the performance and avoiding an over-heating of the part, what causes the bluishness color of the pipe(s).

What causes the exhaust’s chrome to become yellow?

Usually, all the sporting exhaust tends to present yellow color on the pipe due to the high temperature concentrated near the exit of the motor. The gases produced during the combustion flow out faster than in the original exhaust, causing an increase of temperature in that region. Another factor that may cause it to become yellow is washing the motorcycle incorrectly. When it is hot, the chromed exhaust should never be in contact with the water because the hard change of temperature from the water may damage the chrome.

ALWAYS remember that when changing your motorcycle exhaust for an original or sporting model, immediately equalize the mixing of carburetors aiming at optimizing its performance and avoiding the over-heating of the part, yielding the yellow pipe color.

What is the performance difference of sporting exhaust motorcycles?

Roncar exhausts are produced within the international standard of quality, that means with a special baffle that provides a dense and sultry roaring , optimizing the potency up to 9,5 % on the exhausts line Coyote RS, Aluminium and Aluminium RS and up to 12 % for Competition line. Respecting the rotation limits of the motorcycle and equalizing the carburetion according to the carburetor, the performance increases a lot and does not damage the motor. However, as mentioned on the Certificate of Warranty, equalizing the carburetion is essential to reach the performance optimization.

Why does the motorcycle waste more fuel with sporting exhaust?

The fuel waste is due to the fact that the sporting exhaust increases the outflow of gases produced on the motor combustion generating higher performance of the motorcycle. Usually the waste increases about 2 to 3 km/l however it can be higher depending on the way the motorcycle is leaded. A good reminder is that without equalizing the carburetion right after installing the sporting model makes the motorcycle to waste more fuel than mentioned here, because it is adapted to an original exhaust which out flowing of gases is lower, occurring what we call poor mix on the carburetion, forcing the driver to put on speed for a better performance. On the other hand, a well done equalization leads to an increased performance and uses just a few more of fuel.

Installing the parts without mechanical help.

In spite of thinking that the consumer should not install the product by himself, yes he can do it. We do not recommend this operation because the part can be damaged or installed wrongly. If this happens the warranty does not cover changes and it can also damage the motorcycle. It is worth to take the part and the motorcycle to mechanics.

How to wash exhaust and accessories?

Every part, either exhaust or accessory, chrome-plated or black, must be kept clean because the accumulation of dirt damage the chrome or the painting. However, an incorrect cleaning can also damage the product. First, you should never wash the motorcycle while it is hot because the exhaust may change color. Always use shampoo or neuter soap, cloths and water; using chemical products like Solupan or activated ones cause damage to the paints used in the production and also the original parts like motor and wheels. If the part is stick with something difficult to come out, you can use the soft side of a sponge type Scott Brite, never use steel wool or something like that that would scratch the part.

What warranty covers?

First, the warranty will only cover the cases that were previous specified in our Warranty Certificate, like:
a) Chrome displacement (separating the film of chrome)
b) breaking (weld, exit nozzle, pipe or support) since there is no signal of fall or failure installation;
c) Oxidation (rust) on the external area of the part, which means visible and damaging on the finish.
d) areas like supports, cramps, nozzle, connectors, screw, nut, black tubes are not covered against oxidation for being areas of low resistance with weld, rugose and hard-cleaning area, it may change tonality and show spots of oxidation restrict to the region;
The most frequent problems are presented on FAQ developed by the technical department of Roncar and they can be solved by the dealers, with Roncar permission.
In case of questions or problems contact our dealer’s shops and they will check with Roncar the warranty source.
